Needed to get permit in OK:

All documents must be original, not a copy.
Must be 15 1/2 and bring:

Primary ID: State issued Birth Certificate.
Secondary ID: Social Security card.
School Letter notarized by school certifying 8th grade reading proficiency and currently enrolled.
- (Currently not required as of 7/2020)
Drivers ED completion certificate. (Or currently receiving instruction letter to take written test. )
Utility bill with physical address.
Parent / Guardian.

Q: What vehicles do you use for Drivers Ed.

A: We currently have two drivers ed vehicles.
The oldest is a 2008 Honda Civic 4 Door.
The newest is a 2018 Chevy Volt Electric.

This is a reasonable question since Grove is so close to other states. Out of state residents from MO, AR, KS will still just receive an Oklahoma Certificate of Drivers Education completion after completing the ten hour class and six hours behind the wheel. You may enroll in the Drivers Ed course for the knowledge and experience, however Kabesdad Drivers Ed certificates are only recognized in Oklahoma.

As for any Drivers Ed or Defensive Driving insurance discount, you will need to ask your insurance agent. We are a State of Oklahoma Department of Public Safety approved and certified commercial driving school serving mostly Oklahoma residents.

Soon we will have two driving instructors!

I am in the process of training and certifying my wife Stephanie Huggins as our second instructor. Stephanie began her initial instructor training shortly after Christmas and should be complete and begin regular driving sometime around the beginning of February if plans go well. Welcome Stephanie to the team!

New Price Schedule Begins 8-5-2015

Times are changing and so is KabesDad.com Drivers Ed. Starting 08-05-2015 our Complete Drivers Ed course will increase 10% to a new cost of $330. per student. This change is due to the new Chevy Volt and increase insurance premium. Our price is still the lowest in the 4-state area for a complete commercial driving school. We will be honoring a 2 divers for $600 giving a total savings of $60 per driver for two drivers. Thanks for understanding.

Q: Will you accept payment from my Indian Tribe for Drivers Ed services?

A: I will accept full or partial financial assistance from an Indian tribe for Drivers Ed services. I am currently only aware of two tribes providing this assistance. Delaware and Shawnee tribes have programs to pay all or part of the cost of KabesDad.com Drivers Ed. If you are aware of another tribe that provides assistance please comment below and if possible link to the source of your information. Thanks. Great Question!

Do you give the 8th Grade Reading test?

Unfortunately I am not yet certified to give the 8th Grade Reading Proficiency test that is required to apply for an Oklahoma Drivers Permit or License. Students that go to Grove Public Schools may see Mrs. Stewart as she gives this test about twice per month. Students of schools other that Grove should check with their counselor to take the test. Hopefully in the not to distant future I will be able to administer the 8th Grade Reading Proficiency Test.
